Well, the two day open house has come and gone. I’d have to say it was a resounding success!

So, on behalf of the Essex County Model Train Club, I would like to extend our sincere thank you for your generosity to all who attended. A special thank you also to the Windsor Star and the Kingsville Reporter for their pre-open house stories, photographs and video. We are humbled yet encouraged by all the positive comments we received and invite everyone to watch for our next public display. We are certain you will see changes as we continue to grow and evolve our layout. Thank you again.

    PSTR announces rare-mileage trip!
Join us June 24 for a rare-mileage trip along the entire PSTR line, from Port Stanley to St. Thomas Talbot Street and return. Departure time is set for 10:00 a.m. from Port, arriving at the new St. Thomas Talbot St. station by noon. An extended stay will allow time for passengers to enjoy lunch and visits to the restored 1873 Canada Southern station and the Elgin County Railway Museum. We’ll return to Port Stanley following the last service train of the day, arriving at about 3:45. Numerous run pasts will be held in both directions.
    The tentative consist includes:
    GE 44 tonner L3 (ex CNR #1)
one PSTR open car (former CNR caboose)
    Former TH&B caboose 62 or 66
Note: a minimum of 30 tickets must be sold for this trip to go ahead.
    Tickets: $30
For information and to make payment by credit card, contact the railway by phone at 519-782-3730 (open Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 to 4:00)
For information only, by email: info@pstr.on.ca
or contact Tim Flynn at flynnstephens@sympatico.ca

I’ve talked to Tim Flynn about this and we have until June 14th to notify them how many are going. they need 30 min, max 36. It’s on their facebook page but not the PSTR webpage yet. If we can get a firm commit and the 30 bucks, I can call and reserve the tickets….if the have 30 you might be able to buy at the station.
