Our New Home

We began with 4 school rooms. We were able to modify the rooms as needed so a brand new layout could be constructed. The layout in Kingsville was double track and built as a “FreeMo” so each member had their own modules to work with.

As a Club we decided that no one person would own a section of the layout but it would be as a Club layout. Also it would be mostly single track with long sidings to provide the passing of our trains. Since we didn’t have the room to assemble a layout as large as the original, it was decided to double deck the layout. This will allow more consists running at the same time.

Openings finished and installation begins

We had been given permission to remove the walls or adapt them to our liking. It was decided to cut openings in the walls and refinish them. We also painted all the walls and ceiling black. Why you ask? Well when you come to visit to layout, your eyes will be drawn to layout and not the walls. The layout will have it’s own lighting and the top lights will be off during open houses or Club events.
